Long Bay Primary is open from tomorrow, Thursday 2 February 2023.
Thank you all for the messages of support we have received over the last few days. We were advised this afternoon that the order to close schools has been lifted. After reviewing the school buildings we are confident that everything is in place to open safely tomorrow.
The school is safe. Electricity and water supplies have been checked and we are confident that the best place for your children is at school with their peers. The first few days of the school year are a vital time where the teacher and class bond together and we are pleased to be able to be open and start the school year.
Our administration area, staffroom, sick bay and resource room have been relocated to the hall while those areas are reinstated after the flooding we received last Friday. If you need to speak to anyone or collect your child please come and visit us in the hall in the first instance.
If you have been adversely affected by the flooding and your children are unable to come to school please make contact with the office at admin@longbayprimary.ac.nz
New students starting at Long Bay Primary in 2023 please meet inside the hall from 8:30am tomorrow.
Kelly Club will be operating tomorrow for before and after school care. If you would like to make use of this service you can contact them here.
The Torbay bus is running as scheduled. Students on this bus will need to remember their AT HOP card. The Okura bus will also be running as normal. With the top of Glenvar Road being closed the bus may get home a little later in the afternoon.
We look forward to seeing your children tomorrow ready to begin the school year.
Kind regards
Rob Hutton
