I trust you are all keeping dry and warm and have made sufficient preparations for the next 24 to 48 hours. If you need any advice please visit this website for further information.
We are currently on a watching brief as far as Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle is concerned. We are considering the following points:
- The safety of staff and students is at the centre of our decision making.
- We are currently monitoring the situation around transport and the ability for staff and students to get to and from school. With three of our local roads being recently affected by slips this is at the forefront of our minds.
- Auckland is still in a state of emergency and Auckland Emergency Management being the lead agency is providing advice and directions which is constantly under review.
- We will make a decision later this afternoon about being open tomorrow following a meeting being held by the Ministry of Education.
As soon as possible we will communicate this with you.
