Tracey came to New Zealand in 2002 from South Africa where she had been a new entrant teacher for 8 years. Tracey studied at Cape Town Teachers Training College for three years to receive her teaching Diploma and then studied a further year receiving a Diploma in Remedial/Special Education. She lives on the North Shore with her family.
Tracey completed a 6 month Retraining Course through Auckland University in 2005. Shortly after completion on this course and registered with the Teachers Council she relief taught on the North Shore until being employed at Long Bay Primary.
Irene is a beginning teacher who recently completed her Masters of Teaching Primary with the University of Auckland. In 2016, Irene had the opportunity to teach English to students in South Korea where she found her true passion for teaching.
Irene is very excited to be part of Long Bay Primary and she aims to grow as a teacher who develops a positive, respectful and inclusive learning environment wherein all students are able to achieve and succeed.
Tarina MacKay joined the Long Bay New Entrant team in 2017. She is a recent graduate from AUT completing a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching.
Tarina has always had a passion for working with children and enjoys building learning relationships that foster the development of the whole child.
Tarina has grown up on the North Shore and lives locally with her husband and children. She loves the beach, spending time with family, keeping fit and enjoying the outdoors.
Helen Fairclough is an experienced junior school school teacher who has been teaching Year 0 and 1 children at Long Bay Primary since 2007.
Helen has been teaching for over thirty years. She trained as a teacher in the UK and has taught a range of classes from nursery aged children (kindergarten) to Year 2. She taught mainly in the North of England. Since migrating to New Zealand, Helen has taught at Coatesville and Kaukapapa School before joining Long Bay. She completed her Bachelor of Education Degree.
Helen lives on the North Shore with her family.
